You might still want to use an Slog3 – Rec 709 LUT to bring the contrast back into your image before applying the creative LUTs in my pack, depending on how you like to work. With regards to Final Cut – there are many plugins available that allow you to load LUTs right inside of the software. When you purchase my LUT pack, you will receive installation instructions that will provide you with options for using LUT loaders/plugins in FCP (and other software). The for sale version is reported to have very good noise reduction capability (at a thousand bucks). Everyone else uses the Neat Video plugin for noise reduction. Rec 709 Lut File For After Effects
Here's a really quick and basic grade on some stuff I shot last week on the RX10 2. All shot on the Sony RX10 II in S-log2 in 4K XAVC-S 25p/100Mb/s. Edited & Graded in Premiere Pro CC 2015. This footage was shot between and as to get the magic hour light, which sadly we don't get too often here in London. Workflow: Graded via Lumetri in Premiere Pro CC2015. To get the Slog2 into Rec.709 I used a LUT created by Alister Chapman called AC A7s709(800%) 3 Over.cube which basically brings down an Slog2 footage 3 stops down to normal exposure and brings it into a Rec.709 gamma.

A rather quick 'vanilla' test done in the back garden of my 83 year-old father - both cameras using similarly matched lenses, shutter and aperture was adjusted to keep in accordance to the default recommended LOG ISO as given by each camera.

I've tried James Miller's 'Hyde Park' and his other Sony LUTs but they seem too dark and washed out for me. Has anyone found something else they really like and recommend? What program do you use to edit your a7RII videos? Davinci Resolve? I'm guessing you're shooting 'picture profile 7' slog profile?
